Acting Success for Tutors & Futures Student
Patrick Mather, founder of Tutors & Futures, recently had the pleasure of watching Bea Glancy, one of the company’s long-standing students, in the world premiere of the musical The Book Thief. Adapted from Markus Zusak’s international bestselling novel, the musical adaptation premiered at The Octagon Theatre in Bolton.
Promising Career
Bea has been home educated for a number of years in order that she can focus much of her time on her acting endeavours. She has balanced her academic progression with training at the Footlights Stage School in Prestwich. She has previously appeared in Game of Thrones, as well as a number of other productions both on stage and screen. In The Book Thief Bea took on the lead role of Liesel Meminger, the young orphan growing up in Second World War Germany.
Rave Reviews
Reflecting on the show he witnessed, Patrick said:
“Bea has always been a wonderful student and a personable character. Her passion for acting shines through whenever you talk to her. It was a pleasure to see her tremendous performance, particularly given the historically significant nature of the piece. I am sure she will go on to have a long and successful career, and I look forward to supporting her through to the conclusion of her academic journey.”
